Overview: Mandatory in-person practical assessment for your Telehandler (Class 7 Rough Terrain Forklift) Certification. This hands-on session focuses on applying theoretical knowledge to real-world operation, ensuring operators possess the practical skills required to work safely and efficiently on site.
What to Expect: Under the guidance of a certified instructor, participants will complete a comprehensive practical evaluation covering:
- Pre-Use Inspections: Conducting thorough visual walk-arounds and operational checks before starting the engine.
- Safe Operation & Load Handling: Mastering safe lifting techniques, traveling with a load, interpreting load charts, and placing materials accurately while maintaining machine stability.
- Navigating Site-Specific Hazards: Identifying and mitigating on-site risks, including uneven terrain, blind spots, overhead obstacles, and pedestrian traffic.
- Proper Shutdown: Safely parking, lowering the boom, and securing the equipment at the end of a shift.
Prerequisites & Requirements:
- Successful completion of the Telehandler Theory Training portion.
- Required PPE: CSA-approved safety boots, hard hat, and high-visibility vest.
