About this certification
This complete certification program is designed to equip operators with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to safely operate a Telehandler (Class 7 Rough Terrain Forklift). Blending self-paced online learning with an in-person, hands-on evaluation, this course ensures full compliance with current safety regulations and site standards.
Program Structure:
Part 1: Online Theory Training Before attending the practical session, participants must complete the online module.
Key Topics: Regulatory standards, principles of machine stability and center of gravity, reading and interpreting load charts, and understanding safe operating procedures.
Part 2: In-Person Pre-Use Inspection The practical evaluation begins with a thorough equipment check.
Key Skills: Conducting systematic visual walk-arounds, verifying fluid levels, checking tire pressure/condition, and identifying mechanical defects or safety hazards before turning the key.
Part 3: Practical Operation & Evaluation Hands-on assessment under the supervision of a certified instructor.
Key Skills: Executing safe load handling (lifting, carrying, and placing), maneuvering through designated courses, maintaining stability on uneven terrain, and successfully navigating site-specific hazards and pedestrian zones.
Prerequisites & Requirements:
Proof of completion for the Online Theory portion must be presented prior to beginning the practical evaluation.
Required PPE for Practical: CSA-approved safety boots, hard hat, and high-visibility clothing.
Valid government-issued photo ID.
